Treatment for Acquired Brain Injury, ADHD/AUTISM and Personality Disorders
At Avena Healthcare, we provide specialist care for individuals living with acquired brain injuries. Our tailored programmes focus on rehabilitation, improving daily functioning, and enhancing quality of life. With a multidisciplinary approach, we support recovery through therapy, structured routines, and compassionate care, helping each person achieve independence and long-term wellbeing.
Treatment for Co-Existing Mental Health Difficulties
At Avena Healthcare, we recognise that many people experience more than one mental health difficulty at the same time, such as anxiety, depression, substance misuse, or personality disorders. These co-existing conditions can make recovery more complex and require a carefully tailored approach. Our multidisciplinary team works closely with each individual to create personalised care plans that address every aspect of their wellbeing. Through a combination of therapy, structured routines, and continuous support, we help individuals manage symptoms, improve daily functioning, and build resilience. Our goal is to provide compassionate, integrated care that supports long-term recovery and improved quality of life.

Specialist Mental Health Rehabilitation & Recovery Services
Our mission is to provide fully integrated care that combines evidence-based mental health recovery programmes with structured substance misuse support and positive risk management. Within our safe, therapeutic environments, individuals are encouraged to develop coping strategies, build independence, and work towards long-term stability.
By combining clinical expertise with compassion, we aim to create opportunities for recovery, growth, and improved quality of life. At Avena Healthcare, we believe that with the right support, people can achieve meaningful progress and rediscover their potential.
Aims & Objectives
AVENA Healthcare operates as an Independent Hospital for people (18+) living with mental health difficulties who have a primary need for treatment for the treatment of substance misuse disorders.
Our aim is to provide compassionate, person-centred, and evidence-based care for individuals experiencing a wide range of substance misuse difficulties.
All service users are supported by a full Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) throughout their programme: consultant psychiatrist, resident medical doctors (24 hours), dedicated nurses for 24 hour therapeutic care, HCPC-registered psychologists who deliver specialist therapy such as DBT and Schema Therapy with a focus on Trauma-Informed Care; occupational therapists who embed coping skills into meaningful daily activities and vocational goals; and a social worker who co-ordinates family, legal and discharge planning to ensure continuity in the community.
Through our MDT collaboration we are able to transform the lives of people and empower their recovery.

Admissions & Assessment
At Avena Healthcare, our admissions and assessment process is designed to be clear, supportive, and person-centred. We carefully evaluate individual needs, risks, and goals to create tailored care plans, ensuring every admission leads to safe, appropriate, and effective rehabilitation.
All service users undergo an initial assessment on admission:

▪️ Physical health examination.
▪️ Admission investigations: FBC, U&E, LFTs,
▪️ Hepatitis/HIV screening (with consent).

This forms the basis for Individualised care plan.
